Voluntary boil advisory issued for parts of Shreveport Monday evening

Parts of Shreveport are under a voluntary boil advisory Monday, April 14.

The City of Shreveport’s Department of Water & Sewerage issued a voluntary boil advisory just after 5 p.m. Monday due to water main repairs.

Affected areas includes:

  • 1000 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop

  • 9400 and 9300 blocks of Blom Blvd.

  • 9200 block of Hillside Ave.

  • 9400 and 9300 blocks of Baird Rd.

  • 2100 block of Cynthia Ln.

According to the water department, this advisory is out of an abundance of precaution.

This advisory will remain in effect until water samples are collected, analyzed, and confirmed to be free of coliform bacteria.

Once satisfactory results are obtained, and with the approval of the Louisiana Department of Health, the Department of Water & Sewerage will rescind the advisory and notify residents that the water is safe for use.
