(FOX40.COM) — A 14-year-old led Folsom officers on a wild chase while riding an electric bicycle after suspected acts of vandalism and shouting slurs on Sunday night, according to the Folsom Police Department.

Officers responded to an area of the city around 6 p.m. to follow up with harassment complaints connected to an ongoing felony vandalism and hate crime investigation.

When officers found the suspect and attempted to stop them with their police lights on, the teen rode away doing a “wheelie” and gesturing at the officer.

With law enforcement in pursuit, the teen is said to have driven into oncoming traffic with the e-bike lights off and traveling at speeds of around 60 mph.

Seeing the danger in the chase, officers disengaged several times from their pursuit and continued surveillance of the teen until they were able to successfully stop them.

The teen has been booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall where they are facing charges of evading police and vandalism.
