Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman in Banbridge, County Down.
Emergency services were called to an incident in Laurel Heights shortly after 18:00 GMT on Saturday.
The ambulance service said two paramedics attended the scene, but no one was taken away.
A number of police cordons have been put in place.
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart said in a statement that she was aware of a “tragic incident that has occurred in Banbridge tonight which has sadly resulted in the loss of a life”.
“My sympathies are very much with the family of the deceased at this very difficult time,” she said.
“The PSNI are currently holding the scene, and there will be a significant police presence in the area for some time.
“I would ask everyone to give officers the time and space they need to conduct their investigation.”
Ulster Unionist Doug Beattie posted on X about the incident.
The Upper Bann MLA said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of this woman and the police officers dealing with it.”
