Jasmine Crockett Uses 2 Cutting Words To Describe The Trump Era

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) isn’t easing up when it comes to holding the current administration accountable.

Appearing on MSNBC on April 11, the congresswoman and host Chris Hayes discussed the escalating standoff between the Supreme Court and President Donald Trump — a conflict that deepened after the administration defied a Supreme Court order to repatriate Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an immigrant it wrongfully deported to the notorious Salvadoran prison CECOT.

“I feel like I’m in an abusive relationship,” Crockett bluntly said. “I think all Americans may feel like we’re in an abusive relationship with this administration, as well as with the Supreme Court.”

Crockett said that the high court is currently grappling with a crisis of legitimacy, struggling to “earn the trust of American citizens.” And with the increasing friction between the judicial and executive branches, many are bracing for what could be an “ultimate clash,” she said.

The lawmaker also emphasized the rarity of the Court’s unified stance in this case — “which doesn’t happen very often,” she added.

Crockett then said of Abrego Garcia: “If you could figure out how to get him down there, then you can figure out how to get him back.”

Later in the interview, Crockett took aim at Republicans in Congress, remarking that she “can’t find a spine anywhere in the House.”

She also questioned the silence around Trump’s erratic behavior, including his “crazy tariff war that nobody asked for” — and wondered why his mental stability isn’t under scrutiny.

“The fact that no one is questioning his mental acuity or fitness to serve is beyond wild to me,” Crockett said.

She contrasted this with concerns about former President Joe Biden’s fitness for office and argued that under Biden’s administration, at least, Americans could sleep at night knowing that their 401(k)s were safe.
