Monster Hunter Outlanders is a new mobile game coming from TiMi Studio Group of Tencent Games and Capcom.
Capcom’s popular Monster Hunter franchise is an action role-playing game series that pits players against giant monsters in beautiful natural environments.
Originally released in 2004, Monster Hunter popularized giant monster co-op hunting and has grown into a big hit with players worldwide. Apart from other mobile games in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Outlanders is an Open-World Survival game set in the Monster Hunter universe. Other mobile games include Monster Hunter Now from Niantic.
Players will be able to explore and survive unique regions of an open-world map featuring natural environments, ecosystems and monsters; they can craft and build individualized gear and tools; and they can partake in the traditional hunting experience where you can play solo or join a hunting party of up to four.
By combining these three elements, the companies aim to create a mobile game that allows players to enjoy the Monster Hunter experience with friends, anytime and anywhere.
TiMi Studio Group, known for delivering triple-A experiences on mobile, just launched Age of Empires Mobile. It has also built games such as Call of Duty Mobile and Pokémon Unite. TiMi will use the vast world of Monster Hunter Outlanders for the setting to regular world events and activities, creating immense opportunities for the community to have fun together during their in-game adventures.
“It’s time for mobile players to fully enjoy what makes Monster Hunter one of the most beloved franchises in gaming,” said TiMi Studio Group producer Dong Huang, in a statement. “Monster Hunter Outlanders not only offers players an authentic hunting experience, but it does it in a massive open world featuring the community and social systems players are looking for today.”
No official date for the global launch of Monster Hunter Outlanders has been set, and the game will be conducting several play tests in advance. Players can join the community on Discord, which will feature discussions about the new game, existing series and opportunities to sign up for future play test opportunities, as well as its website and other social channels.
